# Licensing scope — exactly what is and is not covered

This repository publishes only a **discovery/companion package** — 15 files describing,
criticizing, and offering machine-readable entry points into a larger private research
project. It is not a publication of that research project, and it is not the founding
corpus.

## Covered by CC BY 4.0 (see `LICENSE`)

The 15 files under `stewardship/`, `launch/`, and `CREATOR-AUTHORITY.md` in this
repository, as committed — the discovery entry points, the framework's plain-language
orientation, its own commissioned criticism, its evaluation instructions, and its
machine-readable agent specification/principles extraction.

## NOT covered by this license

- **The founding corpus text itself** (the 72-page primary document deposited at the
  Internet Archive). That deposit's own licensing status is a separate, not-yet-fully-
  resolved decision by its author and is not settled by this repository's license.
  See the canonical deposit for its current terms.
- **Trademarks and identity marks** referenced or quoted within these files (e.g. any
  ®/™-marked names). A copyright license does not grant trademark rights; quoting a
  mark for criticism or citation here is not permission to use it elsewhere, imply
  endorsement, or represent affiliation.
- **The private research infrastructure** — experimental instruments, blind-judge
  assignments, withheld scenarios, internal logs, and unpublished experimental
  material. None of it is in this repository. What is withheld and why is documented
  in the private research repository's own `WITHHELD-INSTRUMENTS.json` and is not
  reproduced here.
- **Personal data** of any kind. None is in this repository.

If a future version of this repository adds material outside these 15 files, this
notice must be updated in the same commit — a license notice that no longer matches
what a repository actually contains is worse than no notice at all.
